NICU Receives Generous Donation from Rommel Companies

Check presentation

Presenting the check is Rommel vice president, Chip Horn, and his wife, Cheryl Horn, a NICU nurse at UMCH.

On Friday, August 15, 2014, Rommel Companies hosted the 16th Annual Golf Fore Kids fundraising event at Turf Valley Golf Course. For the second year in a row, Rommel Companies has donated a portion of the proceeds from this event to the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) expansion and renovation project. They presented a check for $22,000 to purchase a “giraffe bed” for the NICU, an advanced incubator that is designed to provide an optimal, developmentally supportive environment for high acuity newborns. These “giraffe beds” are a necesity for the NICU, but require significant funding. This generous gift from Rommel Companies brings us one step closer to the completion of the new NICU.
