Welcome to our Maryland Half Marathon & 5K Team Page!
We are participating in the 2019 Maryland Half Marathon & 5K to raise money for the fight against cancer. Our dad, Richard "Dick" Main Jr. was originally diagnosed with sarcoma in 2010 and began multiple treatments at the Greenbaum center. He went into remission and ultimately was able to extend his life until November 6, 2018. Our family is incredibly thankful for the support and care offered by the University of MD Greenbaum Center, which enabled us to have our dad experience 8 more years of marriages, grandchildren, and other family milestones. We hope the funds that are raised will allow other families to extend the time they have with loved ones who are diagnosed with cancer.
100% of every dollar we raise goes directly to the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC). Since 2009, participants like us have raised more than $3 million to support UMGCCC’s cutting-edge care and groundbreaking research. And this year, we’re going for a new fundraising best.
As a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, UMGCCC ranks among the top cancer centers in the country. They combine compassionate care with the most advanced treatment options available. We hope you’ll consider making a donation to fund their amazing work. Your support helps provide lifesaving treatment to UMGCCC patients and funds research that benefits cancer patients everywhere.
Make a contribution today. Together, we can move the fight against cancer forward!
