As many of you know, the University of Maryland's Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center is very special to me. We live in Virginia, but I always tell my family I won't go anywhere else and that's because everyone at UMMC comes together to make solutions happen and when health is the the goal, that's a big deal. I'm one of the very few that has been fortunate enough to outrun Stage IV Esophageal Cancer which has a 5-year survival rate of only about 15%. I know my success is due in large part to the resourcefulness and compassion of UMGCCC.
Tiffani Tyer, CRNP, my amazing nurse practioner who has gotten me through the worst of days and who has become an amazing friends and partner in several previous half marathons exemplifies the compassion and dedication found all arounf UMGCCC. We enjoy supporting each other on long runs and are thrilled that we can team up once again to and raise money for UMMC's Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center on Saturday, June 8.
Every contribution makes a difference. So many families are touched by cancer and other health issues. There's really no better place to be than The University of Maryland Medical Center.
