Hello family and friends,
The three of us have started a team for the 9th Annual Maryland 5k which is supporting research for University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC). Our team is called, "Run Hoggits, Run!" in honor of our father, David Boone. The amazing folks at UMGCCC (specifically the Thoracic Cancer Research Team) worked directly with our father, providing him with unbelievable care and treatment. These teams of amazing doctors continue to provide research and patient care to many different cancer patients. In order to continue their work, they need our help.
One of the last days Dad was in the hospital, barely able to speak, he looked to Dr. Edelman and said, " You all have to stop this." We will do whatever we can do to raise the funds the doctors need to reserch and eliminate these cancers all together. Please help us in the fight to end cancer. Donate to our team, join our team, or come cheer us on on race day! After we will break open some brewskies and toast the one and only David M. Boone!
((We are running in the Maryland Half Marathon & 5K on May 13th to benefit the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Maple Lawn Community in Howard County, Maryland. If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer, the decision about where to go for care can be very stressful. You want a place that provides the highest quality care available, delivered in a compassionate environment by people who will treat you like a person, not a number.
Patient care at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center is provided by teams of professionals with expertise in cancer care. The entire team is ready to answer questions, provide support and coordinate care to make the treatment experience as smooth as possible. We hope you will support us as we run the Maryland Half Marathon & 5K. Every contribution makes a difference and will directly support the Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center)).
